South Sound GREEN is Looking for a 2025-2026 AmeriCorps Educator!

Do you love working with kids outdoors? Connecting community members with their local watersheds? Collaborating with local educators, school districts, non-profits, and tribes to provide engaging and fun education experiences? If so, you should consider applying to become South Sound GREEN’s Puget Sound Water Quality Educator! In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach thousands of Thurston County students about water quality, watershed conservation, salmon ecology, tree planting, marine science, and more! Located in South Puget Sound, you will educate 3rd-12th grade students in natural areas, where your “classroom” could be riparian forests, salmon spawning creeks, or marine intertidal zones depending on the day.

This is a 10.5 month position beginning in September 2025, hosted through Washington Service Corps. We expect to begin rolling review of applications in late April and interview top candidates in May. Please reach out to Sam Nadell at snadell@thurstoncd.com with any questions!
