SSG is Hiring a Water Quality Educator (AmeriCorps) for the 23-24 School Year!

Do you love working with kids outdoors? Connecting community members with their local watersheds? Collaborating with local educators, school districts, non-profits, and tribes to provide engaging and fun education experiences? If so, you should consider applying to become South Sound GREEN’s Puget Sound Water Quality Educator! In this role, you will have the opportunity to teach thousands of Thurston County students about water quality, watershed conservation, salmon ecology, tree planting, marine science, and more! Located in South Puget Sound, you will educate 4th-12th grade students in natural areas, where your “classroom” could be riparian forests, salmon spawning creeks, or marine intertidal zones depending on the day. Are you looking for an opportunity to gain education experience, lead field and classroom-based lessons, and engage hundreds of local students in watershed-focused programming? Consider applying to become South Sound GREEN’s new Education Intern! This position is ideal for college students or recent graduates looking to gain real world experience with environmental education, and the Intern will get the opportunity to assist with exciting projects and events such as water quality testing and our Student GREEN Congress!
