About

Mission

Connecting community and schools for watershed protection.

Vision

We envision a community with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to act as stewards of our local watersheds.

The Conservation Connection

The Conservation Connection (TCC) is a volunteer driven, non-profit charitable organization 501(c)(3) through which South Sound GREEN can raise funds to implement all program elements, including teacher professional development, student water quality testing, service learning projects and more. TCC serves as the non-profit funding vehicle for environmental education programs carried out through Conservation Districts.  Management is by volunteers which nearly eliminates administrative costs (annual State filing fees remain), allowing 99% of funds to go to program services. TCC serves on South Sound GREEN’s Advisory Board to help guide the direction of the program.

The Interlocal Agreement

South Sound GREEN receives funding through multiple sources, including an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Olympia, City of Lacey, City of Tumwater, and Thurston County. The current agreement is active through December 31st, 2025
